SAKONNET MOVES TO PURPOSE-BUILT FACILITY IN
NEW YORK
New York City, May 15, 2006 - Sakonnet Technology, the leading provider of Java-based energy trading and risk management software on the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, announced today the relocation of its head office to a purpose-built facility in New York.
Sakonnet, which also has offices in London and Rio de Janeiro, has moved to 55 Fifth Avenue, which is near 12th Street in lower Manhattan. The company designed and rebuilt its space in this historic building to maximize the productivity of its software development process and to support dialogues with clients. The facility has an open floor plan allowing Sakonnet's release management, quality assurance (QA), development and North American client support groups to interact easily-a key aspect of Sakonnet's agile development approach. Conference rooms allow easy communication with clients and Sakonnet's other offices, which are both in overlapping time zones. A sound-proofed and climate-controlled server room holds server banks for building and testing new releases of Xenon®, Sakonnet's J2EE application, currently upgraded five times a year. The production and back-up server sets for clients using Xenon on a hosted basis will continue to be located at AT&T's highly-secure data centers in New York and New Jersey.
