Sakonnet was started in 1999 by technologists from JPMorgan. It has 85 people in three offices, in New York, London and Rio de Janeiro. Its leading clients are E.ON Energie in Germany and Nuon Trading and Wholesale in the Netherlands. Sakonnet is a private company funded by private investors and operating revenues. It completed four funding rounds from 1999 to 2002.
